Are there normally scorpions in Florida?

My family stayed in a villa in Florida about a month ago and one evening we came home to find a scorpion in our kitchen. It was small (about an inch and a half long) and a sandy yellow color. We got rid of it without being stung, but what I'd like to know if there is normally scorpions in Florida and if so, are any of them deady?

1. There are scorpions everywhere -- not just Florida. They are deadly to little things but just hurt like hell when they sting humans unless someone is allergic to the venom -- then it can be dangerous.

3. Yes, there are small scorpions in many parts of Florida. The stings from this small scorpions can make you sick , cause swelling, and be very painful, but they are usually not fatal unless you have allergies to stings.
