  1. When we went to Florida a couple of years ago, we stayed in motels, which are cheaper than hotels. We stopped at Days Inn (but you have to make sure they are okay, check out the area) and Holiday Express Inns. You can check out the motels/inns on the web, plus there are some independently owned motels and you can always ask if you can check the room out before you book in - they will let you.
  2. Hi, I'd try holidaylettings.co.uk. They do villas etc direct with the owner. Try here: http://www.holidaylettings.co.uk/florida/ You can then refine your search by different criteria - dates, budget, facilities etc. never booked a place in Florida with them, but used it to book accommodation in other countries.
  3. I go every year from the Uk and without a doubt the best villa I have ever stayed at is; www.orlandovillas-florida.com Have fun!
  4. I suggest moneysupermarket.com
  5. Look at the villas on holiday rentals (homeaway is the American version) or other sites below. These are villas that you rent direct from the owner so no commission charges to pay. Pick out a few you like the look of and then call them up and make an offer. Even though it is a holiday week there are hundreds of villa owners all competing with eachother for your business. If you leave it to the last minute (or offer to pay now upfront) you should be able to knock at least $100 (or £100 ish - bad exchange rate ! ) a week off the price or even more - be cheeky - if they say no then move onto the next one - someone will take your offer, believe me I have done it myself (got a £500 a week villa in Sarasota for £650 for 2 weeks) Obviously villas cost in compared with hotel rooms, especially if there are more than 2 of you and the standard is always 5* whereas for the same price you are only talking about a grotty motel room and no cooking facilites which means you spend more eating out.
