  1. A villa is a great choice. I prefer it over a hotel because you have more space and privacy and having a kitchen is really convenient, especially if you will be in Florida for several days. They are also better if you have kids or are taking a group vacation with another family. I'm not sure where you are planning to go in Florida, but the Orlando area has villas everywhere. You can find some options here: http://www.vacationsmadeeasy.com/OrlandoFL/lodging/OrlandoFLVillas.cfm Here are some options in the Miami/Key West area: http://www.vacationsmadeeasy.com/MiamiFL/lodging/MiamiFLVillas.cfm Hope this helps!
  2. I love staying at our favorite pool home. It is cheaper than all but WDW Value Resorts ~ and that is only during the value season. We rent a 5 bedroom (a master suite), 3 bathroom, 2200 sq ft home which means privacy and space for everyone. The furnishings are attractive, clean and the home is well maintained. One my favorite things is to walk out to the pool on an enclosed lanai ~ it is quiet and private and totally relaxing. The home is completely furnished with Everything you could ever need, Everything. A downside is you must have a car. You will need to provide your paper supplies ~ mainly T-paper. There is no daily maid service. These aren't a problem for us ~ Publix or Walmart are nearby. All the cleaning we do is wipe down kitchen counter tops or any spills. We found our lovely rental at Vacation Rentals By Owner. http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/florida/central-disney-orlando This home is perfect when traveling with several people. It costs us about $100.00 per night. Check VRBO to see if you like the pictures of those homes. Be sure you research a bit. Read all the details about the homes/villas ~ some don't charge tax or fees for example. Write down every question you want to ask the owner. I google the phone #'s and make sure it's not a management company or realtor. I'd rather deal with actual owner. Read the contract very carefully so you completely understand what you get. VRBO has a guarantee you should register for if you decide to rent thru them. If not staying at a WDW Resort then we will only stay here ~ not at nearby hotels.
  3. We almost always stay in our own villa. We use http://www.villadirect.com. There are so many great advantages to having a house when your down there. - Making your own meals (not only healthier but a money saver as well) - Privacy - Comforts of home - Do what you want when you want . We hardly ever stay in hotels when we go to Florida now. If we do, it's only for a couple of nights. The great thing about renting through villa direct is almost all the resorts are less than 3 miles from Disney. Emerald Island is 5 minutes (10 in traffic) from Disney. It's awesome! Once you stay in your own vacation home, you probably won't want to stay in a hotel again. Another great site is http://www.allstarvacationhomes.com
  4. Personally I would always choose a Florida villa over hotel rooms even if there are only 2 of you -miles better than falling over eachother in a hotel room. Also you get your own private pool and don't have to eat out all the time which can save a lot of money. If you can, choose a villa that you rent directly from the owner. That way you can see exactly what you are getting. You may find it costs in to book your flight with say Virgin and then get your hire car and villa separately as opposed to booking a package deal. Package firms charge under occupancy rates on villas which can put the final price up by a lot Have a look at the websites below. If you have to book a villa as a package then the superior villa should have a better standard of things like furnishings and bedding and should have tvs in all the bedrooms - stuff like that. So if you can affford it upgrade to superior.
  5. You cannot beat a villa holiday as long as you get a villa what as got all you need, take a look at the villa we rent www.a1floridavilla.com great location gated community backing onto a lake games room 5 bedroom. but there are lots to choose from some have got reviews off other guests also check what is in with the price some add taxes pool heating.etc
