Are the Disney hotels value for monay at Florida or are they just a gimmick? We always stay in villas when we?

go but thought that these might be worth a look this time.

  1. The value hotels are great. They are what they claim to be. We stay at Pop Century and it has everything they say and more. We love it there. ( ages 2 to 85)..
  2. They can be loud and busy and will be a lot smaller than the villas you are used to staying in. However, they are a perfectly acceptable hotel room. But understand that you are staying at the "value" resort and expect just that. A clean room without all the extras that the larger resorts provide.
  3. They are value for money at the moment because you get free dining. You will always get free buses to the parks and Extra Magic Hours so the park stays open just for Disney resort guests. If you're staying with kids I would recommend Pop Century http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/pop-century-resort/ and if you're without kids I would recommend Coronado Springs http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/coronado-springs-resort/
  4. I've stayed at the values, moderates and deluxe Disney hotels and all three are great. If you want a clean, newer value resort stay at Pop Century. They're definitley worth the money to be able to use their free bus system to and from the airport and the parks.
  5. The "value" level hotels are a value. You won't find much cheaper, and they have all the perks of staying on Disney property, such as free transportation from the airport, extra magic hours, and at certain times of the year, the free dining plan. But they are very basic, very crowded, usually noisy. Very small rooms. Moving up a level, you can stay at a moderate hotel or higher. Once you move up to a higher "level" of hotel, you can usually find hotels off-property cheaper. However, you don't get any of those Disney perks. Some people think the perks are worth it, and staying on-property is just so much more magical. Some people don't think it's worth it. Personally, I'm like you - we always rent a house. I have stayed on-property, and it's ok, but I like having a large kitchen and having a private pool.
  6. I have stayed off site twice and on site 5 times. Big difference. Much less hassles staying at a Disney resort. Much less time wasted getting to and from the parks. Loved using the Magic Hours and since we fly in the Magical Express saves money and time.
