Palm Beach Hotel? I'm going to be vacationing in West Palm Beach, Florida in a few weeks and am still looking for a hotel. I am going alone and not renting a car so I need a place on the beach (or very close since that's my main reason for going). Also, I want food to be within walking distance--restaurant or grocery or both is fine. Anyone know a decent place? I can spend up to $140 a night.

do you listen to Elton John or Rush Limbaugh or both? Elton John reportedly earned $1 million for singing at the wedding of US gay marriage opponent Rush Limbaugh. Limbaugh, 59, married his fourth wife, 33-year-old Kathryn Rogers, at a hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, on Saturday and the two were serenaded by the gay pop legend. The conservative commentator is against gay marriage and has been accused of homophobia and racism in the past.

Where can we get married on a low budget near Palm Beach or Boca Raton, FL? Me and my fiance are looking for places to get married at in south florida - around the Palm Beach or Boca Raton areas. Inbetween them. We've looked around at many of the gardens...we love the Moragomi one but its kinda pricey. We would like to spend up to or under $3000...no more than that. We aren't loaded. Are there any options like country clubs and other gardens or hotels that are available for our price range? We know that the beach is an option but we don't want to get married on the beach.

What is a quiet relaxing vacation spot in Florida? My family has been looking around for a place to stay in Florida. We have spent the last 8 years going to Hilton Head Island in South Carolina, but we are going to try something new this year. We have found some nice hotels in Palm Beach, Boca Ray, and Delray, but I am just wondering if anyone has any other nice places to go. We have also checked out Sanibel and Captiva Island. It has to be on the ocean, and we don't want a place that is too ritzy because we don't want to have to dress up everywhere we go. Also, it would be great if you could name places located on the Atlantic side. You can give me some nice beaches, hotels, condos, etc. Thank you so much for your help!
Does this story sound good so far? Inside suite 221 at the seven-hundred-bucks-per- night Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, Florida, fourteen year old Ashleigh Leighton was stretched across the couch, admiring the reflection in a Victorian-era mirror which hung over the rustic white bureau. Her dark brown hair rested comfortably on top of her white polo shirt, her skin was evenly tanned throughout, her cheek bones were especially noticeable tonight, and her amber eyes flickered unusually brightly. There was an uncharacteristically j’ai ne sais pas about Ashleigh. Her tan, her smile, and her eyes made her look outgoing and like that crazy Californian party girl she knew she could never be. ****** Thats the first paragraph. Comments & suggestions, please (: ******** Note: The Breakers Hotel is a real hotel in Palm Beach, Florida ♥ umm cool? I've stayed at the breakers hotel every year since I was like... 2 years old? just what do you think of the book? je ne sais pais means I dont know je ne sais quoi means I dont know what I took french for like 10 years. I meant it as "I don't know" I'm just turned 13 and love to write. I usually write about real-life experiences that have happened in my lifetime or to others. the next paragraph goes: Of course, outgoing and crazy were not adjectives that usually came to mind when describing this New York prep who followed every rule in the How to do Things, WASP Addition manual. Shy? Yes. Cautious? Yes, but Ashleigh was definitely not an outgoing party girl. That description was usually reserved for Nicole Tiffany, her carefree best friend back in Manhattan. Ever heard of opposites make the best friends? Well this was the perfect example of a cautious intellect that meets and befriends a professional (at least some day Nicole will become a professional) partier. Third paragraph: Only two days earlier Ashleigh had left behind her elite, prestigious life on the Upper East Side of New York to relax in Palm Beach. She had hoped to leave behind her cerebral self and reinvent herself. After a three hour trip on an eight passenger Lear Jet with Nicholas Leighton, she had finally arrived in Florida. Actually, her father was probably applying cologne at this very minute for their father-daughter dinner at the Bath and Tennis Country Club in West Palm Beach.
i'm looking for a hotel on the beach in florida's east coast.? Hi, I'm looking for a hotel near boynton beach that is in either west palm, boca, or delray that is walking distance from restaurants, on the beach or walking distance and you don't have to be 21 to check in, and close to an airport.
Homesick Soldier needs space rental for Christmas Party with family!!? I need to find one near the West Palm Beach, Florida area. The websites i searched were mainly for hotel conference rooms or restaurants that holds only 18-20 people. I need space for atleast 150 people. Please help, I would love to get my family together since we never really had a gathering like this; plus it would mean A LOT to me because I'm stationed overseas and haven't been home for the holidays in 3yrs. Please, only serious answers. So excited about planning this (with the help of my relatives of course)!! Thanks in advance! Ok, I guess I can expand my preference a little. Best Beach In Florida For Group Of Friends? Alright well me and my friends (5 including me) already live in Miami, Fl and we have decided we want to go to a beach for about a week for a Summer vacation. We would like to get away from Miami and find one of the best beaches in Florida to stay at we would like to stay at a Hotel on the beach for the time being. The only thing is my friends want to find a beach like the ones advertised in the Corona commercials lol the ones with the white sand, clear blue water, and lots of palm trees with the hammocks. We would basically just be beach bums by noon maybe some sight seeing and probably go out and try to find something to do by night. So what I am asking is what is the best beach in Florida possibly far away from Miami that has everything that I described. Thank You

what are the best places to spend a great march vacation in Florida? With the exception of Key West, Palm Beach, Orlando and Miami Beach thank you. Looking for a nice hot weather, with warm water and 5 star hotels.
Hotel in Florida? Hey. I am looking for a hotel in either West Palm Beach, FL or Key Biscayne, FL, or Singer Island, FL. I am also maybe looking around Miami, FL too. I want a high class resort with a spa. It would also be a plus if there were a fitness center there and maybe even yoga classes. Also, if you know of any other nice places in Florida to go, please tell. But keep in mind, I want all high class. Thank you. p.s. I went to the Florida Keys last year so I don't want to go there again this year. p.p.s. I would like there to be things to do around the location the resort is in.
What do you think of out-of-state weddings? My niece lives in Chicago and has decided to get married in West Palm Beach, Florida. This is awfully inconvienent (not to mention expensive) for family members like me who already live far away. I could've managed a trip to Chicago from Spokane, Wa., but Florida is going to be impossible. Do you think it's a not-so-subtle way of weeding out the relatives you'd like to attend by making it darned near impossible to be there? On top of air travel, there'd be hotel, car rental, you name it. I'm stumped why people do this?
Hotel Age Policies in Florida? My friend and I are traveling to either West Palm Beach or Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. We're both 18, and I have only been able to find one hotel that will check-in customers under 21, but it's miles away from the beach. Does anyone know of any affordable hotels close to either beach that will check-in an 18 year old. Thank you.
Can u help me plan an inexpensive vacation in Florida? I want to plan an inexpensive vacation here in Florida, does anyone have any suggestions of hotels things to do, places to see? BTW I live in West Palm Beach
Places North of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina? We are traveling from Mahwah, New Jersey in a car, to West Palm Beach, Florida. We are going to drive for 8 - 9 hours then stop and rest in a hotel, somewhere a little north of Rocky Mountain, North Carolina. Do you know names of cities north of RM that I can google for hotels? Or if you can give me an adress of a hotel north of RM I will pick you for best answer. Thank you!!

Should i continue this story? please read atleast the first few paragraphs and tell me if it is interesting. thanks! i could really use feedback! Where are they? Oh my gosh! My friends are always late. They told me 12:00. Oh what time is it? 12:10. 10 minutes late! They better be here. Oh well, 10 minutes isn’t the longest they have taken. Once, Ava took an hour because she couldn’t decide on the blue Abercrombie bikini or the pink Victoria secret one to wear to the beach. Anyway, I am sitting in “our booth” at The Dock. The restaurant my parents own. It is right on the dock over looking the crystal clear water of West Palm Beach, Florida. The dock is a seafood restaurant for dinner, but before 5:30 it’s an awesome place for hanging out and grabbing some smoothies and fries. My friends and I come here all the time because, duh, its free. My parents are so busy with it though, I do work sometimes and get paid. It’s a cute little white building with shutters and bamboo beaded curtains in the doorways. Yellow paint with shiny nylon blue, red, white, and green striped booths. It is the place my parents always dreamed of owning. They thought it was going to be a cute little place for seafood and burgers, boy were they proven wrong. Lines going out the door for their famous smoothies. I love that I always cut the line and go straight to “our booth” it should really have our names on it. Speaking of “our” you probably don’t know who they are, or maybe you have a clue. They are my best friends in the whole entire world! We do everything together, shop, beach, eat. All summer, all year. Their names are Blake Reynolds, Ava Witt, Candace or Candy Williams, and me, Summer Kelly. Blake is like only the richest person in West Palm Beach. She has medium straight brown hair with bleach blonde highlights and brown eyes. Her father is some sort of realist ate guy and he owns 2 hotels, a house, and 3 condos. Only the most expensive best of the best. Blake even has her own. Her own…beach house! How lucky! But it is awesome because…hello sleepovers! Ava is the style guru. She has black choppy hair and wears thick eyeliner and lip gloss. Always has the latest clothes and makeup. She is so ahead of the game ever since she was five and picked up a Barbie lipstick it has been her passion. It was her wildest dream to open up a little makeup boutique on the boardwalk above Oasis Beach. Well her dream came true a few months ago. She found a place she could afford with her parents help and now Pearls is the hottest makeup around here. Its like the M.A.C. of Florida. Maybe just our area… Candace. Or as we always call her, Candy! Its such a cute nickname. She has long blonde hair with blue eyes. She is so outgoing and loves to help out. She looks she could be the brat out of our group, which could be true sometimes…but she is such a sweetheart when helping my parents with the restaurant and everything. Oh yeah, and me! I have long wavy/curly red hair. Everyone asks if it is my real hair color. Of course it is! I would never dye it. I also have green eyes, and im sure you will find out more about me later on. Getting back to what’s going on now. Three girls stroll in the door and I see loads of eyes staring at them in horror as the cut the line and come sit down next to me in our booth. “Hey gurlies! What’s new? I just read this new article in Seventeen that Ava, you would die for! Its all on the latest eyeliner techniques.” I spoke “Really? I have to go to the boardwalk and pick one up. Sounds like it might be useful!” “Yeah you should.” I replied. We are soon interrupted my mom who has barged into our conversation to order. “And what would you girls like today? You know the menu, Candace let me guess, Pineapple Juice and burger with Lettuce tomato and ketchup?” my mom asked us. “Mrs. Kelly! You knew it! Ha-ha its always the same with me.” “Ava?” “Oh im not that hungry ill just have a glass of water with lemon, but thanks.” “Blake?” “Cobb Salad no dressing” Blake quickly answered. “And Summer I know you already ordered yourself some fries. Alright then I will be back.” and with that my mom walks away into the kitchen. Minutes later she came back with our drinks she set them on the table and we all took the one that was ours and then tore apart the wrapper on the straw. “WORMY! Ready…set…GO!” yelled Candace. A few customers turned their heads and looked at us. Wormy is a game we started when we were almost 10. You take water in your straw and drop in on the crinkled straw wrapper. The wrapper expands and whose ever does first, wins. It has lived on ever since. I watched in amusement as mine slowly got soaked and became un wrinkled. “Beat that Candy! I actually won this time!” Ava yelled “Psht, well mine was right behind you…and you started before I yelled go!” Candy argued. “Nah, you just cant stand being the loser. One day I really am going to beat you at something.” “Oh yeah? Bring it!” “Beach Volleyball later on tonight?” Candy

Best Ritz-Carlton in Florida? I know that there are a few Ritz-Carlton luxury hotel and resorts in Florida (Amelia Island, Orlando, Sarasota, Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale, South Beach, Naples, Coconut Grove, and Key Biscayne), and was just wondering if anyone here has been to any, how the experience was, and which is supposed to be the best? A few more side questions-- Was it crowded when you went (that's a positive), is there much of a nightlife (all ages), and is it fun for large families? Thanks.. Uncrowded is fine, but preferably not dead (I guess that really depends on the season). As long as there are plenty people at the bar at night and pool, it would work.

Will these TSA and police officers arrested in prescription drug bust, be on the No Fly List now? http://www.cnn.com/2011/CRIME/09/13/new.york.tsa.officers.arrested/ - TSA and police officers arrested in prescription drug bustBy Julia Talanova, CNN September 13, 2011 - New York (CNN) -- Three Transportation Security Administration officers and two police officers are among 20 people arrested Tuesday on charges of conspiring to distribute tens of thousands of oxycodone painkillers for illegal sale from Florida to Connecticut, according to U.S. Attorney of Connecticut David B. Fein. According to court documents, TSA and law enforcement officers accepted cash and gift cards to allow large quantities of the prescription drug and large sums of money to be transported between Florida and New York airports. "In these times no one needs to be reminded about how dangerous it is when officers who have sworn to uphold the law accept money to 'look the other way'," Fein said. "Operation Blue Coast" began with an arrest at a hotel in Stamford, Connecticut, on April 8, in which DEA officers recovered 6,000 oxycodone pills from a man who traveled from Florida to Connecticut., officials said. According to court documents, the man revealed that he traveled back and fourth several times a week over the course of a year, buying drugs in Florida and transporting them to Connecticut through commercial airlines and by automobile. He said he sold the drugs to traffickers in Connecticut for a profit. "Prescription pain medication abuse is rampant in New England and this trafficking group allegedly preyed upon the individuals to line their pockets, while the law enforcement officers are alleged to have sold their badges and abused their authority to further the illegal activities of this organization," according to a statement by Steven Derr of the DEA. According to the DEA, to transport up to 8,000 pills per trip, the man said he paid off the arrested TSA officers who screened the passengers and luggage at the Palm Beach International Airport in West Palm Beach, Florida, and Westchester County Airport in White Plains, New York. He told the DEA he also paid more than $20,000 to TSA officers in New York to make sure he could pass with large sums of cash, the profits from his drug trafficking. "TSA holds its security officers to the highest professional and ethical standards and has a zero tolerance policy for criminal activity in the workplace," said TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein in a written statement. "The actions of a few individuals in no way reflect on the outstanding job our more than 50,000 security officers do every day to ensure the security of the traveling public." The informant also allegedly paid off Florida State Trooper Justin Kolves, 28, by giving his fiancé, Jessica Douglas, 28, checks in exchange for a free pass for anyone transporting narcotics or currency driving through Central Florida. In addition to Kolves and Douglas, the arrested include Christopher Allen, 45, and John Best, 30, TSA officers based at the Palm Beach International Airport; Brigitte Jones, 48, a TSA officer based at Westchester County Airport in New York; and Michael Brady, 36, a New York police officer employed by the Westchester County Department of Public Safety, who allegedly accepted cash in Connecticut and New York in exchange for passing drug profits through the airport without detection. Fourteen others were arrested. If convicted they face up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $1 million.
Can I Ask My Gentleman Caller...? I met a gentleman on Match about a month ago and we have been talking a lot on the phone. We have been out on one date. He lives in Chicago and I live in Tampa. This weekend, we are seeing each other in West Palm Beach, Florida. He grew up in West Palm Beach so I'm wondering if I could ask him to look up a nice hotel near the airport for me to stay at and if he could pay for my stay. He will be staying with his family. I already booked my flight and paid for my ticket. Would this be acceptable?
Do you think I'm over reacting? My husbands company is sending him to West Palm Beach, Florida. Neither of us have ever been. And neither of us have ever been on a plane. I happen to be jealous. I want to go to have the experience, but he will be in seminars all day and I'm not comfortable going out on the town during the day by myself. So my delima is this: I don't want to spend the money to go (probably on a different flight and getting my own transportation) and then sit in a hotel room by myself all day, but I want to go. Also, for some reason he doesn't want me to go (and I can't be positive but I don't think he's cheating on me, he never has - after 7 years of marriage I haven't had any evidence of it). I don't want him to feel like I'm a tag-a-long, but the more he doesn't want me to go, the more determined I am to go. Any opinions on this matter? Am I over reacting? Also, we have probably only spent a total of 10 days apart in the last seven years. I know he needs time away, but I am lost when he's not here. I'm not accusing him of cheating. I honestly don't think he would. He's a great guy. I only included that in the statement to exclude the answers that would include "the obvious - he's hiding something" crap.

Help finding wedding venues in Florida area!? Hi, I am getting married in March of 2010 and having a hard time finding a venue and caterer we can afford. All places I've seen are $90 to $200.00/per person. And here I was thinking I could do fine with my $10,000 budget. The tragedy is that my choices either are the super expensive ones (like the Breakers Hotels, or other expensive venues) or crappy ones (Like the suggestion someone made of doing it at the Lion Country Safari or the Palm Beach Zoo) The bridal websites havent been too helpful since most of them point me to either Miami or the Keys to places in Florida I havent even heard of. I just need an affordable yet not tacky place where to have my wedding. I was thinking more on the $60.00 per person range. Help? Well I am on the east coast of florida. It would be too much trouble to cross to the other coast. Preferably places on the east
In whose favor should the court rule? In May 1998, RDP Royal Palm Hotel, L.P., contracted with Clark Construction Group, Inc., to build the Royal Palms Crowne Plaza Resort in Miami Beach, Florida. The deadline for “substantial completion” was February 28, 2000, but RDP could ask for changes, and the date would be adjusted accordingly. During construction, Clark faced many setbacks, including a buried seawall, contaminated soil, the unforeseen deterioration of the existing hotel, and RDP’s issue of hundreds of change orders. Clark requested extensions of the deadline, and RDP agreed, but the parties never specified a date. After the original deadline passed, RDP continued to issue change orders, Clark continued to per- form, and RDP accepted the work. In March 2002, when the resort was substantially complete, RDP stopped paying Clark. Clark stopped working. RDP hired another contractor to finish the resort, which opened in May. RDP filed a suit in a federal district court against Clark, alleging, among other things, breach of contract for the two-year delay in the resort’s completion. In whose favor should the court rule, and why? Discuss.

I'm going to Orlando, Florida tomorrow for the day. What can I do that is cheap? I live in West Palm Beach and will drive up in the morning, and drive back home at night, no hotels. There is three of us: me(16F), my bro(14), and my dad. We want to spend as little money as possible. Suggestions please! omg people, its not like i don't want to spend ANYTHING. Jonas Brothers Hotel Miami? Well, I'm going to be attending their concert on September 4th in Tampa, Florida. I've heard that when they come to Florida they stay in hotels in Miami and they also have another concert the next day in West Palm Beach. Does anyone have any clue what hotel they stay in?
What to wear to a fall beach wedding? I (female, 26) was recently invited to a beach wedding at a nice hotel on Singer Island in South Florida. It is the first Saturday in Novemeber, so it can be considered a 'Fall' wedding as well. It is scheduled to begin at 5pm, so it is an evening/night event. The wedding invitation is in 'Lilly Pulitizer' style colors (bright pink and green) with palm trees. I've been told that the attire is 'Beach Semi-Formal' and that men can "wear slack/button down shirts" (nothing mentioned about ties or jackets) and women can "wear a nice dress but nothing too fancy." I have no idea what to wear because 'beach' and 'fall' seem to indicate completely different types of wedding attire. 1) Do I wear a long or short (cocktail) length dress? The ceremony is on a sandy beach so I thought cocktail length might be best. But then again, it's Fall, in the evening, and at a nice hotel so I'm not sure if a floor length gown would be more apropriate. Long or Short? 2) What color? I initially thought bright, vibrant colors would be good for a beach wedding in tropical South Florida. But again, the event is on a Fall evening so maybe dark colors would be better. Bright or Dark Colors? Thanks so much for your help!
VACATION IN MIAMI FLORIDA? I AM GOING TO MIAMI IN THE END OF APRIL I WILL STAY IN HILTON HOTEL BUT I AM SO CONFFUSED WHERE TO GO SOUTH BEACH OR PALM BEACH..I LOVE BEACHES THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO ENJOY CLEAN WATER..AND TO BE CLOSE TO OTHER ATTRACTIONS...I HAVE NO KIDS ONLY ME AND MY HUSBAND..SO WE WANT IT TO BE ROMANTIC.
What would consider my style? ? I have LONG strawberry blonde wavy/curly hair. I wear a lot of hollister clothes, not the ones with 'HOLLISTER' plastered over the front of the shirt more like ones that have a watercolor beach on it or have the bird logo with some other type of design. I also wear abecrombie, not with the 'ABERCROMBIE' plastered over the front of the shirt, only the ones with their large moose logo because I think it's cute or a regular striped red & white shirt. I usually carry around a handbag that is either metallic or has a beach on it. My one has two palm trees and a hotel and says 'south beach florida'. The other one I'm getting is 'miami' by donney & bourke. I always wear a lot of expensive jewelry. Usually 2-4 ring, earrings, 2 bracletts, & 1 necklace. I always have my nails done with either a french manicure or some other pretty yet sutle design. Would you consider my style like 'girly beachy'? Thanks<3 I always wear jeans in the winter, simple plain wide legs. On my feet in the winter I usually wear flats or my uggs. In the summer I always wear jean shorts, and sandle heels or flip flops. I might be getting the donney & bourke bag if I get more money. xD
Proof read essay please? I dont know why the paragraphs wont indent, so I put a dash by each paragraph. The topic is about: The advantages of living in Florida. Please tell me if I get off topic too. -Florida is a great place to live in. Residents in Florida enjoy some of its many advantages. Some of these advantages include Florida’s beaches, activities, and the great scenery. Beaches ranging from Fort Lauderdale to Miami are a good example, as well as amusement parks that can be found in Orlando, and the nice natural scenery which the Everglades can offer. The advantages of living in Florida can seem endless. -One advantage to living in Florida are its beaches. Florida is a peninsula, which is good because people living in Florida can live close to a beach. Great beach locations can be found in the eastern part of Fort Lauderdale or Miami. Residents can enjoy swimming, and other activities that the beach has to offer like eating at restaurants or renting a bike to ride along the sidewalks. Residents who spend 4th of July on the beach can expect fireworks to be lit off far out into the sea by boats. Many events take place on the beachside as well. Some of these events include cultural festivals and music festivals. These things make Florida’s beaches satisfy those living there. -Another advantage of living In Florida is the activities. Florida is home to amazing theme parks. Theme parks like Disney World or Busch Gardens can offer endless fun for many like riding roller coasters or enjoy shows and parades. Another activity residents enjoy is fishing. Florida offers many places to fish since there are many big and small bodies of water like ponds or canals throughout the area. Places like Dania beach pier or the everglades house many different types of fish to catch such as King Fish which is found in saltwater or Largemouth Bass which is found in freshwater. Residents can also try fishing on a charter boat for big game fish, like Tarpon or Blue Marlin. -The scenery in Florida is another advantage as well. The Everglades can offer many breath-taking views for most. Visitors can watch wildlife like the various fish or larger animals like alligators or manatees. If one enjoys seeing plants, he or she can explore the Everglades, which has many species of plants like Palm Trees and Mangroves. Miami and Orlando both have nice architecture and natural scenery. Orlando has great-looking theme parks like Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, and Miami’s South Beach has many hotels illuminated by neon lights one can enjoy seeing at night. -Living in Florida has its variety of advantages as described. Residents made a smart decision living in Florida. Without a doubt, Florida pleases its residents with the many advantages it has to offer. Some may agree that Florida can be the best place to live, others can have doubts. Nonetheless, every resident can have their opinion.

What are some things to do in Florida? My family and I vacation in Florida often, but this is the first time my brother and I get to bring a friend. My friend and I are both 15 year old girls, and we're making a bucket list of what we want to do while we're down there for two weeks. She's never been, so I want to make it fun for her. Here's what we have so far. Get an awesome tan. Write our names in the sand. Catch lizards. Go night swimming. Walk to The Marriott Hotel. Carve me and Haley’s names into a palm tree. Find a ton of seashells. Walk Tigertail Beach at sunset. Catch a starfish. Send postcards to people back home. Swim all day long for at least one day. Hang out on the sandbar. Ride the waves on the body boards. Snorkel in the ocean. Touch a fish at the beach. Build the ultimate sand castle. Haley and I bury each other in the sand. Talk to random strangers on the beach. Make crafts using seashells we find. Eat at Snook Inn. Take pictures on the pier at Snook Inn. Pet a Pelican. Feed a fish to a Pelican. Have a shopping day. Go to my favorite Florida store. Buy Henna tattoos. Rent a boat for the day. Sit out on the porch and watch the sunrise. Lie on the beach and watch the sunset. Find Haley a Florida romance. See dolphins. Have a picnic on the beach. Catch a jellyfish. Go to a water park. Put a note in a bottle, and send it off into the ocean. Mess around in the Florida Wal-Mart. Learn to Boogie Board. Make a hot tub in the sand. Name dragonflies. Catch a crab. Have a movie night. Get pedicures. Cook an exotic meal Have a photo shoot on the beach. Find and paint sand dollars. Find sea urchins. Bring home jars of sand. We can't think of anything else!
Psychology degree or Hospitality degree? Please help me? I really would like to start my own bed and breakfast/ become the manager of a nice resort or hotel. Unfortunately the realization has hit me kind of late and I'm all set to go to Palm Beach Atlantic University (PBA) to get a degree in Psychology. ~Option #1: I was wondering if I should start out at PBA in West Palm Beach, FL this semester, and then just transfer to Johnson and Wales University in North Miami Florida next semester. ~Option #2: Or I could not go to Palm Beach Atlantic and just enter Johnson and Wales for the fall semester, and get started on my bachelor's degree in Hotel management. ~Option #3: Or I can just go to Palm Beach Atlantic and major in Psychology, minor in business (or double major) and get my master's in hospitality management or something. (But going to graduate school despite of financial aid would kill my wallet with loans, however a degree in Psychology certainly can go a long way...) What should I do? Please, I call the Palm Beach Atlantic University admissions office in a couple days to confirm my attendance. Is this a wise decision? I could always transfer, or I could stay, or I could not go at all and start fresh... Please help me. ~Thank you so much
Flagler College right for me, and do you recommend any other schools? I'm a freshman in high school and been looking at colleges. My grandma just came back from St. Augustine for vacation and she said I would love Flagler College. I would like to double major in acting and print journalism. I'm more of a tv/film actor, but I know most universities go into mostly stage, except for NYU. Even USC, CAL ARTS, and UCLA only go into stage according to the people who I talk to. My grandma asked them and said the same thing. She said it has a beautiful campus tho, and that they said that they have a great journalism program. I'm from South Florida. I was born in Tampa for a couple months, and then moved to Coral Springs/Tamerac for 5 years, and then moved to Lake Worth near Palm Beach for another 5 years. I now have been living in Metro ATL for 4 years. I don't really like GA at all, I hate the fact that it is too southern for me. In FL it wasn't like that... Is St. Augustine like where I use to live, or is it different? I always heard NF is really different from SF. How is Flagler's journalism program, and will I get what I what? I like the fact that it is only 4 hours from both my grandparents and 6 and a half hours from home which isn't too bad. I can always go see my grandparents on weekends. I also like it because it is by the beach, and that the school use to be a hotel, and has a lot more girls than guys.I also want to be a entertainment journalist, like I want to work from Variety. The other fact I like about it is that is so cheap compared to NYU. I never heard of it before my grandma told me. I know the average GPA is only like a 3.1, so I'm not sure if is that good of a school compared to NYU. What do you think? Should I rather go to NYU than Flager College? Should I go to UGA free, and then transfer to NYU? NYU is the only college that really only goes into tv/film acting. I checked into lots of other schools and use to have a huge list. Is there any other schools you recommend in Florida or anywhere? Can you also tell me more about Flagler College? Any feedback is fine. Thanks!
Should I buy a house or condo? Hello. I am looking to buy a place in Florida. I am retired, but I'm 47. My wife sadly passed two years ago. I have found two really great places in Palm Beach Gardens. 1. There is a condo in a high rise building that is for sale. I've looked at it, and it looks great. The elevators go directly to your own private lobby or foyer. It is a 3 bedroom 4 bath. Huge views of the Atlantic ocean everywhere. A wraparound Lanai, tile flooring, huge walk in closet, huge master bath with his and her showers, jacuzzi. The building also has a pool, private beach, hot tub, sauna, steam, bar, dining room, and theater. It is 24/7 secure, 24/7 concierge and room service. The only problem is, I love golfing, so I would have to purchase membership at a club 3 miles out, and play there. Also, valet and a garage and dock for boat. 2. The second place is a house in a golf/resort gated community also located in Palm Beach. Again, it is 24/7 security and gate house. The house is a 4 bedroom, 5.5 bath. My taste for interior is modern white flooring, with modern dark wood furniture. However, since this house was built in 1990's, it is very old looking. I would definitely need to re model most of the house. It comes with a pool, hot tub, and dock. Also, the house has theater, elevator, living, huge kitchen, huge dining, huge master, huge master bath. The best thing though, is that this house is in this wonderful community. Two 18 hole courses, public pool and hot tub, spa, sauna, steam, tennis courts, bridge room, four different dining rooms, business center, and hotel/resort/concierge style staff that cater to any desire, also, I could drive a golf cart around the community. They also have food delivery, catering, and geat big parties throughout the year. I even hear, that in the more expensive deleopment across the street, Michael Jordan is building a house. But, I would also have valet service. so I'm really stumped on which to get. I have a pretty large boat and a car. I have a small apartment in Chicago, so I would probably be down south in the fall, winter, and a little in the summer. The condo would be great for being on my own, and I like it because it is high up, and for the views. But the house is in a huge community where I could socialize. Please help me.
Tranlate in to spanish? My Best Vacation Ever was during the summer of 2010 and my best friend Crystal and I wanted to go on vacation. We thought long and hard about where we wanted to go and finally decided to fly to Florida. Crystal and I started our planning by searching for hotel rooms in the West Palm Beach area and getting plane tickets from LAX (Los Angeles International Airport). However, we were only going to spend a week in Florida so I knew I had to make this last forever even though it was only for a week with Crystal. We found some really good deals from our entertainment book, so we started to reserve hotel rooms for West Palm Beach, Florida. Once we arrived we decided to rent a car and drive down the coast to Miami Beach. The weather in Florida was simply perfect and it was sunny with a nice windy breeze to go along with it. The first place Crystal and I decided to visit was a quiet Hispanic outside cafe. We had a few drinks there and took some time to get to know each other. The men had a Spanish/English dictionary, which we found to be very useful. All we had to do was type in the word we were trying to say and the dictionary gave us the pronunciation of that word in the opposite language. Looking forward to a whole week of new experiences, new people to meet, in what felt like an entirely different world. I was looking forward to so many things, but most of all I was looking forward to being with Crystal. In the end it we finally ended up laughing, dancing, and falling in the sand until I was able to see the shining moonlight in the sky. I can’t wait to make a trip back to Florida with Crystal it was truly a week that I will not forget ever.
What sort of things can a bored teen do inside? So.... I'm in Palm Beach, and it's supposed to rain the entire time I'm here:( I'm 12 years old and have basically nothing to do! Although the hotel does have a pool I can use, it's getting a bit boring. PLEASE - don't post any websites that have fun games or anything like that, I'm not into that. What sort of things can I do? I can go places, but they have to be indoors and in the Florida area;) Any wacky, funny, simple, fun things I can do? The more suggestions the better! *13:)* Thanks for letting me know, typo!
Help with Orlando Hotel for me and 5 year old son? I need a little help with planning a trip to orlando with my 5 year old son. Its our 1st time going to Orlando, Florida :) I have only booked my flights so far, could anyone recommend a good hotel for the 1st two weeks of march 2011? I was about to book Holiday Inn Club Vacations Orlando - Orange Lake Resort, which looks like a great resort, our own kitchen (to save a bit of money) and the pools and everything looks amazing..however after reading reviews on trip advisor there seems to be a LOT of extra costs, like $9 a day for tubes for the lazy river and $15 each for a shuttle bus to the disney parks etc. :/ and i plan to go to the disney parks almost everyday for the 2 weeks! My friend told me some hotels offer free shuttle buses to the parks and i came across Gaylord Palms, another gorgeous hotel but they only have small rooms with no kitchen so we'll have to eat out everynight. I've searched the internet and the two best hotels i could find (in my price range was these 2 hotels). Would it be too much hassle maybe booking 1 week in the Holiday Inn, Orange Lake and 1 week in Gaylord Palms? As we'd get free shuttles in one hotel and great pools in the other! Or should i book into the same hotel for the 2 weeks? I'm so confused! Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels? Could anybody recommend any other good hotels around the disney area, preferably with free shuttles to the parks, and good pools, and lots of things to do at the hotel, as i plan to spent the rest of the holiday relaxing at the hotel. Also Im not goin to rent a car as its only me and my son and with the cost of parking at disney, fuel and the Daily Surcharge for drivers under 25, it wouldnt be worth it. Whats the weather like the 1st two weeks of March? Also which parks would you recommend for a 5 year old? The Walt Disney Resort or to get the Orlando FlexTicket, or the Orlando Freedom Ticket which lets you visit: * Magic Kingdom Park * Epcot * Disney's Hollywood Studios * Disney's Animal Kingdom * Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park* * Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park* * Universal Studios Florida * Universal's Islands of Adventure * SeaWorld Orlando * Aquatica * Busch Gardens Tampa Bay Which would be the best for a 5 year old? If we got the Orlando Freedom Ticket, would we have enough time to visit much diffrent parks, or would it be a waste of money? After looking both of them up, I thought the Orlando Flexiticket looked best, but would my 5 year old enjoy it? Sorry for all the question :) hope someone will be able to help, Thanks.
Do you think i should become an author? Please read paragraph and tell me what you think? Lexy we are going to Florida! Really? I exclaimed?! I can't believe it! Hey my name is Lexy and I live in Kansas and I have never been anywhere except Kansas (of course) or Missouri and i have never been on a plane either. This is a big step up for me. Shea we are going to Florida (Shea is my older sister she is 15 and I'm 12. We arrive at the airport and their is so many people there I couldnt believe it. (Well southwest airlines is really good) and we put our luggage down and check in it took about an hour maybe but I didnt care I was going on a plane! When we were done with all the checking in and luggage and all that we went to an overpriced (they need to make a living to) bookstore where I got a bible to read on the two hour flight from Kansas to Florida. Well my grandma was going to so it was my mother, Shea, me, and my grandma. I got on the plane and sat next to my grandmother and some other guy sat next to her. I begged to get the window seat, and lucky me I got it. As we took off i was jumping and my smile went from ear to ear. I wanted to read a lot of my bible but i was in awe at the amazing sights and tiny people and trees. I kept guessing where we were on the flight. Is this Georgia? I think so. Finally we got off the plane. into a place where PALM TREES GREW! i was so excited i have never seen palm trees before and the air was so warm all the time. I wanted to rent a car (which took time) and just leave to our hotel and the beach and everything that awaited me! Of course getting your luggage, renting a car and everything took so long. But did i care? nope! We drove our rental car (Jeep) to our beautiful hotel. It's called the Alden. We checked in their and as we walked to our room we were right on the beach! With me and my sisters clothes still on not bathing suit we ran through our screen door and into the water where we splashed and laughed and pure happiness that brung tears to my mothers eyes. Thats how happy we were. (can you blame us? We have never seen the ocean before) Then we put our bathing suits on and did it again and played in the sand. We went to a store called Publix and bought all this food and orange soda. hahahaha and we got a volleyball and played. We spent so much time on the beach its not even funny. If you want to hear the rest of this story or another please say so THANK YOU for taking the time to read this :)
EVERYONE HELP ME OUT TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF THIS!? Many things can bring you joy to this world and some can even create a life changing experience. Throughout my life time i had a good amount but i feel as if this one was the one that stood out the most. Spring break 2008 was that week. Growing up as a kid i would always be the one who was stuck in my hometown while all my friends went on vacations and explored other parts of the world. In that time i wanted to get away from reality and live a dream for once. I wanted to see everything from a different perspective, a part of the world which surrounds nothing but beauty and Florida was one of them. Change came when my best friend and her family decided to invite me to Florida to stay with them for a week. We took a road trip so we also visited Tennessee, Georgia, and Kentucky which was also an exciting experience. Saturday was the day we arrived to Daytona, Florida. We didn't stay in a hotel, instead we decided to stay at their family's house. When we got there, we unpacked our bags, met all their family members, and ran outside to look around some more. It was thumbs up, i thought it was a lot better than where i live. I also noticed that the weather was a lot different too. The air so refreshing, expecially if you live by an ocean because it gives your skin that extra moisturizer it needs. Most of the times the sun was out but it did have its rainy days too. It also seemed like everywhere you turn, you would either find a lizard or a palm tree. Sunday was our first day to explore parts of Daytona. We decided to go put put golfing and ride a few go-karts. That made it feel like i was bringing back some of my childish memories. We also visited a couple old fashioned car auctions and after a while we went in town and bought some ice cream and cool souvenirs. Later that evening, we all went out to eat. They had many restaurants that i've never heard of before but the food was amazing. When we got home we all ran straight for the pool. We forget about all our miseries, and focused on what we have in store for us tomorrow. Monday was the day I finally saw an ocean. The view was so right, it had a board walk, a little town next to it, and sea shells lying around. As i looked around some more i noticed fishermen casting their nets hoping to bring home some delicious catch for the night. The water so warm, i never knew how salty it was until i got a taste of it myself. The rolling spirals of water made it even better but i wish they could have been a bit bigger. After a while of swimming, we rode four wheelers, ate some ice cream, and danced to some music that was playing from inside our car. A few moments later we left the beach to check out the town next to it. It reminded me of an outlet mall, everything was so colorful and the people looked like they were in a great mood. Tuesday we didn't do much, but it was fun as always. We stayed home because their family was having a birthday party for their daughter and we wanted to help out. They had a cookout, we played a few games, and swam in their pool. Later on when a few people left, they decided to take us shopping. We went to explore a couple malls and a few stores that i've never even heard of before. I think the prices their and where i live are identical. When we arrived home, there was another party, but it was for the younger people. We went out back to have some fun, danced to some music, swam in their pool, and laughed the whole night. We didn't get too much sleep that night, instead all of us chose to lay outside and look up at the stars above us. Wednesday was my favorite day of all, the day we went to Clearwater, Florida. tell me what you think of this essay is it good .?
My English paper. Does it sound ok? Spinning in the tea cups at Disney World, I couldn’t focus on just one thing so I looked at Katie sitting across from me. It was autumn 2004, and I was in fourth grade. My trip to Disney World was the most memorable experience of my life. We’ve been wanting to go there for a while and finally bought out tickets and got a hotel room. When we began driving I had no idea what was in store for me, who knew Ohio was so big?! We had to take two cars to fit all of us. I was me, my sister Savanna, my cousin Kaitlynne, Nana, Papa, Mom and my aunt and uncle. Two days in the car with your cousin and sister would sound miserable, bit it really wasn’t. We had fun on the was there. We stopped at Savannah, Georgia to take a picture because Savanna thought it was cool that there was a city that was the same name as hers. In South Carolina we went to the beach and collected seashells. There were houses down there that reminded me of Dr. Seuss’ drawings. They were abnormally shaped and seemed like cookie jars rather than houses. Just when we crossed the Florida border Katie, Savanna and I asked my mom almost every minute “are we there yet?!” At last we were! I saw the sign that said, “Walt Disney World, Where Dreams Come True” accompanied by Mickey Mouse and a bunch of palm trees! I couldn’t have been any more excited! We went to the front desks and checked in, and then we made our way to the Fantasia hotel. Our room was right by the huge statue of a ballerina and a toy soldier. We got right to the Magic Kingdom to see Cinderella’s castle and ride some rides. I saw Walt Disney’s statue of him and Mickey Mouse called “Partners” right when we walked it. Just seeing it was unforgettable. There, I met Alice, Tweedle-Dee and Tweedle-Dumb from my all time favorite movie, Alice in Wonderland. Tweedle-Dee took out my hair and tied it up in a side pony, I was just laughing the whole time and my mom was taking pictures. Katie was talking to Alice, and Savanna was getting her picture with Tweedle-Dumb. That experience was one I’ll never forget. We took pictures with all of the Disney characters; I got their autographs and everything. We went to Epcot, which was really cool. There, we went to italy and Russia and all kinds of places in the World Showcase. The ride inside the Epcot ball was fun. Katie, Papa, mom and I went on the ride called “Mission Space” where you have to land your spaceship on Mars. It felt so real! It sucked me to the seat like a vacuum as we left Earth. We could move our heads or talk. Katie was the pilot and I was the communications manager, everyone had their own jobs on the spaceship. We got there in one piece and came back to Earth with a good report. When the ride was over my mom had to explain to Katie that we didn’t really go to Mars and we we’re just spinning extremely fast. Ever since then I go on every spinning ride when I go to amusement parks. At the Animal Kingdom we took a safari and saw all of the African animals in the wild. There were giraffes, zebras, hippos and even lions. I was afraid because there wasn’t anything keeping the animals from us, it was just open land. At Hollywood Studios we got to see Indiana Jones Live Stunt Spectacular. They were blowing up cars and running around the stage. I could feel the hot fire in my face, even in the audience. There were so many other rides I went on at Disney World, but I just can’t remember them all. This trip taught me to never let go of your childhood because you only have it once. Also, to live every second of your life with happiness. That’s why I cherish the memories I have from Disney World and it is my most memorable experience. That's the end. I got a B on it, so if anyone has any suggestions on hoe to revise it, that'd be cool (^-^) THANK YOU
